About Heron's Rest

The cottage is best described as 'compact', but benefits from private off- road parking for one vehicle adjoining the property, and a patio area directly overlooking The East Lyn River. If river conditions are favourable, and it is the correct time of the year, it is possible to catch sight of the occasional salmon migrating up-river to spawn.

Other benefits and comforts of Heron’s Rest include electric radiators throughout, which can be adjusted for personal preference and is included in the rental cost. All the floors are tiled so that dog owners do not need to worry about muddy paw prints. In the kitchen area there is a ceramic hob, electric oven, refrigerator with small freezer compartment, microwave and automatic washer/dryer.

In the bathroom there is a shower-bath and heated towel rail. The lounge area has an LED Smart TV with built-in Freesat and Netflix, Blu-Ray player and CD player. There is also unlimited free internet access. Bedroom 1 features a King-size bed, and bedroom 2 has two single beds. All bed linen and towels are provided.

We feel it is best to mention that the nearest shops for any provisions, such as milk, bread or newspapers, are 4 miles away in Lynton. However, both local pubs, The Rockford Inn and The Staghunters Inn (one mile away in Brendon) usually serve food lunchtimes and evenings. It is advisable to book ahead for the evenings.
